Orienteering event 35:36 [4] 4.3 km (8:17 / km) +170m 6:55 / km
shoes: Inov8oroc280

Much better race. Was smashing it at the start coming first until the fifth control. Lost 30 seconds on controls 5 and 7 and then lost a minute on number 8. Beside that was okay. Not as clean as I would have liked and I need to work on my flow a bit but I'm pretty happy with 5th today (two minutes behind lanita who won). There's always room for improvement but even with my mistakes it's nice to know I'm not far off the pace :)

Not happy with my run at all but just have to be positive and make sure it doesn't happen again. Finished 9th.

9 AM

orienteering training 40:00 [4] 5.0 km (8:00 / km)

Set out 7 controls for the juniors. Wasn't too tricky just took a bit of extra thinking to make sure I was in exactly the right spot the the control descprition described.
10 AM

orienteering training 48:00 [3] 6.2 km (7:45 / km)

Did the women's middle distance course from the Aus champs last year. Nailed the fist control and then (drum roll please) MADE ANOTHER BEARING MISTAKE! Ahhhhhhh! Why the hell do I find these so hard in this terrain? So frustrating!!!!!!! This time I didn't actually go the wrong way just got a bit confused as to were I was on my line and kept running and just happened to stumble across the control (made of toilet paper)
Was still running strong after that for the rest of the controls until I left number 10. Number 11 was clearly a bearing control so I was super carful and slowed down my pace a bit to just focus on my Nav. Sure enough I spiked the control!! YAY! About time!! :) after that I found I couldn't pick up my pace again as I was super tired and so walked/jogged the last two controls.

Note

After travelling home stuck in a car for three and a hall hours I felt so stiff! Had hot and cold showers to get the blood moving and then wore compression tights to sleep to recover faster

Stretching 30:00 [3]

Solid stretching session with mum
