Orienteering (Bigland) 40:00 [3] 5.2 km (7:42 / km)

Quite fancy myself in relays but just did not have the speed compared to the other guys. Fairly scrappy all the way there and back.

Better on the trains.

Orienteering (Simpson Ground) 39:00 [3] 5.8 km (6:43 / km)

6/3-leg continuous relay with Ben M.

Didn't get my compass out in time so borrowed Ben's right-handed one for the first leg which was a little tricky.

Settled down on the 'third' but was a bit struggling for motivation getting caught by Cherry and pulled onto Dave. Weaved well through the windblown to give Ben a nice gap though.

Just followed Spongey/Doug on the the last one gradually losing distance.

Alright. Think we peaked in fourth.

Orienteering (Bishop Woods) 1:10:00 [3] 10.0 km (7:00 / km)

Line first just to get into things good.

Messing up in the circle on the control pick.

A} Focused on the circle on the short legs one but wasn't confident enough.
B) Was better on that front on the medium legs but was too conservative and not stubborn enough with my routes.
C) Long legs. Very lax on the first control losing about 2mins before hitting the last two well.

Short line back towards the cars.

Pleased with the orienteering by the end. Running felt a bit average.

Orienteering (Rusland Beeches Middle) 42:57 [3] 5.4 km (7:57 / km) +250m 6:28 / km

Did want to try and race this. Aim was to take it easy to the first control and then crank it up slowly from a slow start.

Was slow but still struggled to interpret the map. Could see Dave behind but took a nice route to 2. Biggest mistake on 7 which was clearly going to be tricky, was thinking that I really should stop to look properbly but didn't with a bit of pressure from behind. Should have focused more at what height it was on the ridge, counting them off wasn't enough. Sly tactics from Dave let him get away.

Fairly smooth for the rest, annoyed I didn't see/look for the wall on 12. Caught Dave back up by 16.

Didn't feel very tired at the end.

Still not feeling it. Hilly miles. 5.27,5.28, 6.20. Supposed to do four, did a few short sprints instead.

4*2min, 3*4min, 3*1min, all off a minute. Nice and consistant just behind Owen on the 2s faster than last time. Still feeling the weekend so only 3 4s. Was chatting to Keith so missed the first 1.
