Running warm up/down 15:00 [3]

Orienteering (Stowe Middle) 29:33 [3] 6.7 km (4:25 / km) +80m 4:10 / km

Proper racing. Back to Stowe Park for another middle.

Main aim was to not mis-punch and concentrate all the way. Felt like I was going at an unsustainable pace until about 7 but managed to get in the groove and SplitsBrowser shows consistency right to the end. A few minor wobbles to 12 and 25 with poor direction / not looking up. Struggled up the hill and got caught by Willy at 26, I then ran into an OOB and took a penalty. 2.30 down but was on old school punching not SIAir so can lop a bit off for that.

Overall very pleased to have pushed all the way for 30 mins and taken a 4 minute deficit at Itchington Holt down to 2 minutes here, with more training to come.

Best weekend’s training in a long time. Knee flares up every now and then but about four-five runs a week seems okay.

Lungs just really struggling to get working. Lots of corner cutting in the middle so I could restart with the pack each time but was worth it as I did managed to salvage some effort in the last three reps and finish in the group. Followed by a few strides, "impressed at the aggression" Adam said.

Fourth K was a bit poor so I only did two 2s in the second set. Turned it on partway though the fifth K as I thought it was gonna be my last. Started the sixth but was a massive loser and stopped at 700m. Anyway was good to be back and not too far behind the pack for the most part. Have missed winter training in the dark.
