Running 1:10:17 [3] 15.04 km (4:40 / km) +16m 4:39 / km
ahr:164 max:179 shoes: Mizuno Sky

Closing out a reasonably well executed week of training. Not so much running volume but good stuff done right and well spaced out. Will try to do more or less the same thing with a few more kms next week.

Trying to challenge myself a bit today pace wise, aspiring to run like Scott and Harper have been lately, all 4:30’s while reading a novel and maintaining a 150 hr. After that last ten miler - which wasn’t any fun - I was definitely hoping to run better today and feel better while doing it. Check and check. Yay.

Note

33off.com has a discount code - newsite - which appears to be applicable to all merchandise. Atlas race snowshoes come to $212, taxes & shipping included.

Lots of Solomon shoes and I just got some 2 in 1 running shorts for 35 bucks a pair, roughly half of what I’d normally pay.

Worth a look.

At the London FFL. Makes me appreciate Burlington’s version. No showers here at all as opposed to gross ones at home.

So, skipped the xt/cardio portion.

Treadmill fun with some of those 30 second jobbies in the mix. Just from moderate to ten k pace of 9.5 for the 30s. Times six. That was all. Handled it fine. And if i didn’t I’d just pack up my treadmill and go home.

I’m an introspective sort I guess. Today I feel like I did as a kid when my parents were building houses and I was more than once looking at some flooded, filthy hole in the ground fully aware that within the year I’d be living in it and thinking not too frigging likely, parents. But then it got sort of done each time. My running is like that and, not to be negative, but I know that today I’m still just a figurative filthy hole that I have to fill with work or, come race day, I’m going to have to live with results I’m not proud of.

Super motivating!

Split between the bike and some legs and core work. Already sore in the abs. Guess that’s weakness leaving my body.

Easy on the mill. Didn’t mind this one. Felt like my four outermost left toes were squishing my left middle toe up. Was a weird sensation. All good once I got my socks off. Cool to be evolving the species all by myself but I always figured it was the littlest piggy who’d get it first. Huh.
