In the new shoes again. One trouble spot that I hope gets worked out but otherwise they are great. Bugs were making themselves known but weren’t too too bad.

Sweated off a few pounds and realized that this could be the exact type of weather I race the first twelve or more hours in. Could make it interesting since even easy efforts are going to be costly in terms of energy, electrolytes and sweat.

This race will be above all else a learning experience.

Got a chance to thank a Bruce trail maintenance crew who were taking out some big fallen trees.
