Such a bizarre experience today. Went looking for the shoes I wore yesterday and couldn’t find them anywhere. Ran in my old ones, which felt old and like they needed replacing which is why I replaced them. Still have no idea where they’ve gone and I, and more important, Jenn, have looked everywhere. At least i got nearly 500 kms out of them before they went to the fourth dimension.

Hot as poo. Beat the rain and lightning just barely. Gave me a reason to pick it up at the end.

Interestingly, during the race my problem calf was a non issue. Interestinglier, it’s stayed that way since. Interestingliest, on today’s run I felt it just a wee little bit. I’m assuming the party pooping element is pavement.

Thought I might mix in some training with some oomph today but backed off when I felt the legs out, as above, and still was aware of some fatigue and wear that didn’t reveal itself on the trails.
