Note

aware of pins and needles in L foot, crotch, L glutes, L wrist and bicep (also numbness/tingling in thoracic spine) after I'd stopped… been having neck spazzes and some considerable L shoulder shock action more and more frequently. Where are those x ray results?!
2 PM

Cycling 1:46:32 [4] 36.7 km (2:54 / km) +396m 2:45 / km

bunked off for some 95% efforts on the hills and then recovering on the downs and brisk on the flatter sections, laaarvely weather
w NatLAD to Hawkshead n back, abso TT'd it on the way back averaging 32kph on the big ring all the way from Grizedale (much wow, such feats)

12 PM

Warm Up/Down warm up/down 15:00 [3] 1.0 km (15:00 / km) +80m 10:43 / km

walked to start lol doesn't count but got my feet wet

Orienteering race 42:24 [5] 4.53 km (9:22 / km) +207m 7:37 / km

loved it as per, ticking off the first few controls pretty routinely which was pleasant (and surprising), cocked up no.9 as refused to go further downhill so hit succeeding stream, then fannied as couldn't see another stream anywhere and knew i wasn't more than 20m away so easily lost 3.5-4mins there alone just wandering around in undergrowth and swearing and gazing around so was pretty gutted that i'd lost so much time and felt certain someone should/would catch me soon after. Trudged up the other ridge to 10, again delaying dropping into the control until i could see the code was mine, overshot 15 (30secs) as was running along the path and got carried away (never thought i'd say that) and then fannied at and banana-ed to 16 trying to climb the opposite bank of the river (not easy when you're basically 4ft) and trekking around in a green patch (1min) and then slogged it in, pretty dead from the hills tbh but such slow running through the terrain
thankfully didn't see anyone so was alone the whole time which did wonders for concentration
legs=shreds weee

Warm Up/Down warm up/down 15:00 [3] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)

dying

Orienteering race 24:28 [4] 3.87 km (6:19 / km) +55m 5:54 / km

The course was so short that when i was on the 'run in' (controls 9+) that I wished i had been running harder. tbf did make a fair few route choice errors/mistakes but have misplaced map so will have to wait for clok to put up a route gadget to properly analyse/check lost time… know that i (and EVERYONE else) lost up to a min on #1 (made Rona very angry)
felt planning was a bit gash and the start was equally as shite, the people who were 1 and 2 mins behind us started at the same time?! hmmm
3 PM

Warm Up/Down warm up/down 25:00 [3] 2.2 km (11:22 / km) +40m 10:25 / km

waiting for the ret to finish and then as a group along the pier for mandatory instas

Orienteering race (Tarn Hows) 49:43 [4] 5.63 km (8:50 / km) +410m 6:28 / km

Gorgeous views from the top! Had a couple of ankle near misses but the terrain is deadly af so no surprises, just gotta keep vigilant. Chose wrong reentrant for #1 so descended too early, and a wobble on #5 (also dropped pretty much straight down as opposed to more of a contour which was intended). Fannied on #10 as I wasn't sure about crossing the barbed wire but then just went for it anyway after trying to trudge through the marsh; #11 got confused by the abundance of spurs and chose a different (wrong) one to drop down to look behind. #13 chose to go up and down the hill via the crags and thicket (good one Hans) and then cautious through the final few after the brutal vertical climb back up… going pretty slowly and walking a fair few hills but only 2 mins behind Saz and somehow(?!?!) took Helen by 5 mins but tbf looks like she had a mare on one control so nothing to boast about
