Never got round to finding a partner for the Saunders so had a free weekend. My friend was also free so given he is perhaps going to do his Bob Graham next year he thought it was about time to recce leg 1.

Perfect day for it, not too hot but clear sky. Wasn't sure how long it would take us so packed a healthy amount of food. Made sure I ran all the climbs (excecpt the steep boggy bit up to Mungrisdale Common before Blencathra).

Once down that steep ridge we had so much time before his gf needing picking up from Keswick that we chose to run back to Keswick anyway. At this point I was feeling less strong and left hip was starting bother me - although after some stretching on Latrigg it went away. Great day out and keen for some more.
