Exploring the hills to the east of my house. Had to take my phone with me so I didn't get lost. According to strava I spent 28 minutes not moving where I would have been trying to match the paths on the 1:25000 OS map on my phone to the the ground. Several times I just ditched the planned route and just went vaguely in the right direction. Now I know where the paths are I can try harder next time as I wont get lost.

Cheltenham Parkrun. Found out this week was a 4 lap race instead of the usual 3 lap race (and will be for the winter) which meant the trail shoes i put on for the football pitches was now a hindrance on the solely slippy tarmac course with tight corners. Felt like I went off far too fast as per usual but forgot to lap my watch. Being a 4 lap course I was constantly overtaking people which was nice as they would cheer you on but at times I had to shout KEEP RIGHT but often I didn't need to as my stomping could be heard a long way back. Definitely over 5km. Normally it is only 5.06km or something similar.

NGOC Western night league event somewhere in the forest of Dean. 60 min score odds and evens format. Legs still tired after parkrun so just cruised round. Very slippy and muddy. Made a few mistakes early on and terrible routechoice decision meant a rather below par first o event round here.

Rest day driving down to Cheltenham. Took 8 hours zzzzz. God luck to everybody doing Braids tomorrow. Would have loved to have done it for the 5th time in a row.

FWTN in Dean Village planned by Rona. Started a minute behind Mark and whenever i made up time and saw him in the on a forthcoming leg I would consequently make a mistake and would have to make up time again. Course length: 4.1km
3) Had no idea what I was doing - just go in and find it attitude and should have either stayed high/gone low and not done a mixture of the two
5) Truck threw my confidence as couldn't see behind it, thought it was in OOB
19) Thought the course ended at 18 and went and punched the finish
20) Wasn't reading the map and instead just memory of earlier control and got confused in the scaffolding. Crawford beat me easily to this control

My last long run with EUOC. Nice dry day so made sure we go all the way up the seat to get a photo. After that did a lap of whinny, dunsapie, steps at the bottom and then north side of whinny and back.

Managed to get literally the last entry on the Highlander Mountain Marathon. Doing it with a mate from Newcastle so that's something to look forward to next June.
