NWO Urban at Royal Wootton Bassett - MO 7.6km

After yesterday went fine I decided to go out on the Mens Open but early on it was apparent that my hip flexor was still tired from yesterday so jog-walked alternate controls. Had to walk the last 5 controls.

Going to spend the next week doing jumpy exercises and will see how it feels next weekend

NGOC League event at Rodborough Common - Blue course 7.0km

Cruising round but probably should have done the Green course in hindsight. Could feel hip flexor was getting tired after 23 mins, then again at 35 mins so did what physio told me to do and stop and stretch it. Did some jog-walking after that. Got round pain free with no twinges though which was the main thing.

Orienteering-wise I was pretty sloppy caused by losing contact with the map.

Maybe my last appointment at the physio...he thinks there's no reason why I can't go running again.

This time he had my doing lost of jumping/ hopping and balancing - all actions and movements that take place whilst running - and i was fine for all of them.

Plan is to do these new jumpy exercises during my lunch hours. Will jog round the courses this weekend and if they go ok, when im feeling brave I will try running next week. :O

My final diagnosis was a hip flexor strain. He said a tendon takes a 100 days to heal fully, I must be a good chunk into that now and just need to keep increasing the load on it

Road between swimming pool and work is closed for 2 weeks due to roadworks so will be doing spinning before work instead.

30 mins alternating standing and and sitting.
