Didn't want to do the Wansfell fell race - too short/sharp for me. Mother and Auntie were visiting Grasmere so got a lift there. I had run on the hills to the West before so opted for the ridge to the East, first Heron Pike then along the ridge all the way to Fairfield then back down the Tongue Gill valley from Grisedale tarn. Very misty for most of the run.

Very technical area. Have been here before for part of the British Champs Long in 2017. Struggled on that day with the 1:15000 map. Today I knew what to expect but I was running off without proper plans. Not too shabby but 4 min error on 11 was really annoying.

Should have gone out this morning when it was light. Also I was hoping to finish early like last year but it wasn't to be. Did another loop I've doe before via Lord's Lot. Plan was to keep it easy but I picked up the pace for a minute through the open land up from the road when from behind the trees some curious cows with big pointy horns stopped watching me and started trotting towards me. Pretty terrifying in the dark.

Wasn't that keen on heading out early as it was pissing it down. Then found out i would run out of time if i didn't act quickly so did a route i've done before via the Gilpinpark Plantation and the Dale's Way. Time wizzed by as still had songs in my head from Thursday.

Back in the Lakes. Easy loop from parents home to Scout Scar and back. With it being the shortest day of the year, and me only setting off at 3:30pm, it got dark pretty quickly but I had a map and was all good. Legs were feeling battered after Thursday's antics but alright now.
