Not very imaginative today, just went for 2 hours easy on the Seat. Early breakfast and big day yesterday meant I was feeling bonky after 90 mins but made it back alright.

Fairly calm and a good group out at my pace. Sat patiently at the back around 9th and slowly moved forwards finishing 4th. Don't think I've had such even splits: 3:18, 22, 21, 22, 14
4s off PB, happy with that

HBT Winter Handicap

I knew my legs would find this tough but it was just a but of fun. Route was the side of the bog, past St Margaret's loch, up Queen's Drive a bit then right and up to the top of Whinny Hill. Down the Dasses, and then up and down the Crags to finish.
Got given a reasonable handicap, 30s behind Luetch but legs were quick to tell me they had had enough already so the gap just grew.

ESOC annual Hair of the Dog social event. Format this year was just two 30 min score events; one in Colinton and the other in Colinton Dell. Very straight forward around streets and park but that didn't stop me making a 3 min mistake looking for a knoll on a slope in the Dell.

Fell Foot Parkrun

On the winter course so 4 laps of hard trails but lots of short climbs and in total 11 little out and backs leaving me very tired at the end. Pushing as hard as I dared but didn't have enough in the legs to put up a fight with the leader who's lead slowly grew and finished 20s ahead.

Northern Fell Runners Winter Choc-O

At yesterday's orienteering I got told about this challenge put on by the Northern Fell Runners which was essentially good mountain marathon training if nothing else; 11 controls defined by grid references where the grid reference for the next control is found at the previous control (as pictured). Course was described as 16.5 km ~ 3hours.

It was very clear so the nav was fairly straight forward. I was pushing quite hard as I was running late after car problems. Luckily the tubes were fairly easy to spot as sometimes the clues were a little vague. I only had to get my phone out for two controls where the control was in a section where my map printing had not overlapped. Good fun.
