POM Day 1 at Palheirão - M21SE 6.5km

I didn't know what the area was like but I guessed it was white forest after the model event and the drive to the event. I was wrong. It was very green and low vis.

Scrappy first two controls getting used to it but then on #3 my plan may have been fine if there wasn't so much green but I wandered off my bearing and soon nothing matched. I eneded up having to re-attack from path. On 7 I wanted to play safe so went round the path but still couldn't find it at the first attempt. The rest wasn't too bad.

POM Night Sprint at Figueira da Foz - M21E 3.6km

Nice area of old streets but not too tricky. Scrappy again at the start, with hesistation on 1, missed the entrance into 2 then slight disorientation on 3. After that I don't remember making any more errors but there was not as much flow between controls as I would have liked.

POM Model event at Leirosa. They were going to use this area for one of the forest days but a storm in January meant left damage and they weren't happy with the map quality so it got moved. It wasn't even the worst past that was hit, further North was catastrophic windblown. Nice enough forest, very runnable were there wasn't fallen trees.

POM Sprint relay in Figueria da Foz - Leg 1 3.5km

Organisers auto assigned me in a team of fellow British competitors and luckily for me I already knew everyone; Matt Pickering, Michael Lai and Julia Jarvis. I was very interested to see how we would fair against another British team; James Errington, Nick Jarvis, Katherine Bett and Rob Finch.

I was first leg and after a long leg across the gridded streets there was short legs round buildings and walls. I often picked the slightly longer route choice and was having head to head racing against Meg who always picked the optimum one. There were so many controls out there that twice I mis punched and then immediately realised and punched the correct control close by. Came back in the top 10, ahead of James but behind Meg.

Race against SCOA team went down to the wire we came just pipped them into 4th. So many teams mp'ed.

37s off my pb and legs felt terrible most of the way round - probably from football yesterday. Forced myself to run the whole of the 2nd half of MFD. I mention it as for the past few attempts its been too much of a struggle. Got binned on the last descent.

I've managed to get my name onto a list who play 5 a side football at Pleasance with the banking company from the floor above us.

I've missed playing football. I was quite keen in 2nd year at uni. According to AP my last game worth logging was 7/6/13

Lots of running around, not always beneficial to the team. With Tuesdays one of my easy days at the moment I need to watch it so I don't do some > zone 2 session every day.
