Headed out early to go exploring. Went along the coast East towards Alcanda is it looked the most interesting, there were some geocaches and chance to find hills. After running along coastal trails for 35 mins eventually found a route up to a road. Followed this back into town and then straight to hotel as was worried I would miss breakfast.

30 mins easy along the beach and a loop in town turned out the Nice qualification was a vicous lie :(

WU and drills. The most stressful WU I've ever done as our cyclist's tracker wasn't working for ages so had no idea where he was.

Ironman Mallorca 70.3 - Team Relay Run leg

Happy with this as it was hot. Sacrificed small time to grab water bottles to pour over me at every opportunity.

Just checked and we finished 2nd but team that beat us started off in the first few waves rather than at the back where relays were meant to (benefitting from not being behind other swimmers) Complaint lodged. Appeal went through. We won the relay.

Back in Mallorca for the IronMan 70.3. This year though I'm only entered in the team relay rather than doing the whole thing.

Did a recce of the lap of the run course. Running along the beach was fine with the sea breeze but the parts through town was hot and will be the same tomorrow.

Note

Yesterday calf was very tight so after rolling it last night didn't get in deep enough I went to get a sports massage today. It was the soleus which was tight and they were confident that it wont be an issue. Sore now but hopefully in 12 hours will be better

Was worried area would be tricky for me but plesantly surprised to spike first 5 controls and be just off the leaders. I then spooned 6, 7,11,13, 19 so came in a pack with Will and James 7 mins down.

Shame I couldn't concentrate on my own race here

Never got round to find another team mate so went round again on 3rd leg. Was interesting to see if i would beat my time with so many errors before and i was close - was only 18s down at 19.
