Concorde Chase at Hawley and Hornley - running M21S. After last week's poor race (and especially poor race preparation) I was determined to get this one right.
Just before starting, the current leader had taken. 58:30. My target was to beat this, and also beat Ian and Kat. After a nightmare first control dodging rhododendros (1 min), I ran pretty fast, and picked up the pace a lot towards the end when it looked like I was on target.
I ran the race of my life (6.3 mins/km is my fastest ever conventional race) and was disappointed not to win M21S - in the end, an Army runner won in 51 minutes. I was 2nd of 26 runners in M21S, and 7th of 131 runners in Course 3.

From home to Waterloo (25 min) then from Fleet to event, then from event to pub (The Crown Cushion), then from pub to Farnborough Station and finally from Waterloo back home.
I'm pretty slow on my bike at the moment. I think it needs a tune-up (more air in tyres, tighten brakes, degrease and lubricate.)
