On map near Halden in Norway. Course simplification exercise with Phil, taking turns to describe and execute a leg and then get/give critical feedback. Very useful for correctly pacing legs in the intensely technical terrain. Time/distance approximate.

Tough course just east of Stromstad, from the fire station. Very physical (underfoot) and technical. Ran off the map coming off a hill, and took a while to realise and relocate back onto it - perhaps 10 minutes.

Around east half of Victoria Park - 2 laps. Splits: 4:22, 4:24, 4:17, 4:24, 3:57.
Quite warm and humid. Mystified as to why it's so slow (my slowest ever at non-marathon pace) but may be combination of lack of sleep, dehydration, late in the evening, bit of a breeze (although it's a circular route), not warming up, not enough rest after my cycle home, post-marathon (although it has been six weeks now) and the 100km hilly cycle ride yesterday. Or just not trying hard enough. Excuses, excuses...
