Day 2. Running with Pete. Much more pleasant weather - cloudy, only a bit breezy. Still very wet on the ground. Pete was struggling a bit more today (we had had to start very early (07:09!) as we were in the chasing start, so he had to skip breakfast) so our route was less challenging than yesterday's. We took a road route near the end. I finished with loads of energy (the nice weather helped my morale a lot), although my legs were starting to tire a little bit after running the last couple of km.

Finished 64th out of around 200 - 36th overall for the two days. Just out of Gold Certificate position - one more 20-pointer (and there was one!) would have done it.

The OMM in Perthshire - Day 1 with Pete. Rained on and off for much of the day, also a strong wind although it was often behind our back. A couple of small mistakes but nothing major. After a shaky start, I felt OK. Felt good at the end but happy to get to the campsite and get in a tent.

Finished 21st out of around 200.

HH Winchmore Hill Street-O. Lots of hills! Easy pace at first, only sped up near the end to get back in time. Parts of the area are quite dark and gloomy, it was tricky to read the map from time to time.

Usual run. Cool, a bit of water on the roads but dry in the air. Went off gently, but speeded up after Tower Bridge to get and stay at the front. Then pushed hard the whole of the rest of the way. Flew along Bankside in particular. Thought I was on for a big PB, but seven seconds slower than two weeks ago - surprised. Also Harold started late but did 23:11 so I was never in it!

Note
(rest day)

Entertained the thought of running home but the legs are aching after yesterday. Unfortunately don't really have another opportunity to run to/from work this week. Maybe will do a lunchtime lap of Regent's Park on Wednesday if I feel OK then.
