British Sprint qualifiers. Men's Open B. Cool, cloudy. Started very late (due to late train) and a couple of small (but big for a sprint - 20s) mistakes. Thankfully my start time got adjusted.

Orienteering race (Sprint Race) 14:49 [5] *** 2.3 km (6:27 / km) +20m 6:10 / km

BSC Finals. Men's Open B Final. Cool, but sun came out. Almost fault-free, very enjoyable.

Cycling 14:32 [2] 5.06 km (2:52 / km)

In York. Very impressed with the cycle paths/provision here - much better than London or indeed anywhere else in England outside of Oxbridge.

Cycle Commuting (Back Home) 25:05 [2] 8.79 km (2:51 / km)

Felt a bit weaker than normal - hmm.

Cycling (Old to New to Old) 37:02 [4] 15.24 km (2:26 / km)

Out in 20 back in 17. Far too much fun bombing down MM at 20mph. Amazing what a bit of chocolate can do.

LOK Kentish Town. Once again poor strategy let me down - went north, so when I finally came down to Primrose Hill, didn't have enough time to pick up the points there. So got beaten by Vince by 10 points, even though he ran at least a kilometre less. Also beaten by hfgnr, FRBlackSheep and substantially by paul_c who destroyed the course.

Some good planning too, some considerable thought needed to execute some legs, and got hopefully lost (first for a Street-O?) in a complicated estate that had a big circle in it - forgot to count the exits out of the circle. A good two minute mistake here.

Note

1h45 - Carto: Stratford City. First draft sent off to the organiser! Yay! The two smallest levels are only done in outline, but good enough for a first walkthrough.

I've also provisionally planned 30 control locations - of note, 17 of these are outside. Competitors will probably find they spend the majority of their time outdoors. This is mor than just "shopping centre" orienteering!
