| great night ski with the bmbc - palgrave east - conditions were great; fast and glidey...terrific bonfire after with espresso and mulled wine - Bash and Bent skiied on in for a little tipple too! Nice thing to do on a tues. eve...sooooo glad I don't live down town ;) |

| Woke up feeling significantly better, and lighter (4 lbs.!!!) so by mid afternoon, I decided to take a spin on the skiis with el jefe and the pooches - working out the kinks in some sore muscles, and toughening up the blisters. el jefe glide waxed my skiis, and it was a big improvement! He also gave me a couple tips to think about while striding along and that helped too...we are off to Canmore to do some backcountry and snowboarding on Sat., so this should help! |

| yup, this was a tough one!! Thanks so much to Tiny and Eddie for litterally pushing or pulling me through the WHOLE race! - This was one of those days where I was pretty much dead weight - those guys rock for being such strong competitors. I was gripped by pretty bad stomach pains and low energy for the duration...guess the week before was still with me.
I'd have to say the bike was my favorite part, as it caused the least distress, and we were able to keep some good speed up; Tiny towed me through the trek section - tough going under foot for sure...the ski started out with a little renewed energy on my behalf, but that kinda faded too as all water bladders froze, and I failed to feed myself properly - we got through it well though - I particularily liked the backwoods trail breaking cuz it meant that T and E would have to slow down a little to break the trail, therefore I could rest some!! Whew - pulled it all out for this one and ended 4th overall - not too bad I say!
I was feeling REALLY puny at the end, so I split home early and missed the celebrations :( Needless to say, and this may be graphic, but when I got home, my body finally let go of whatever bit of anything it may have been hanging on to! Ughh....rough night, but it is out! Kinda like cleansing the demons I s'pose...

| was feeling under the weather, but skied out to meet everyone for a night ski anyways - got to the meeting spot and realised I was done, so I came home again. I slept for 14 hours and still feel like I've been hit by a mack truck - ugh...gotta shake it before this weekend! |

| got a couple hours of snowboarding in tonight at Blue - wooweeee!!!! It was pretty chewed up and heavy, but fun non the less - I was really out of practice...will have to hit Caledon on Wed. and maybe Friday, and maybe everyday unti I leave for Canmore on the 27th!! Yippie! |

| 30K LSD - wow, seemed longer - but the body held up OK. I was disheartened that I felt so sluggish - not going to get to Boston at this speed!! I was carrying alot of weight in my pack in the form of water though; hopefully this counted for something?? |

| THI - what a blast!! I am calling this a 4 cuz somehow I got el jefe as a teammate, and his legs are 10x longer than mine, and besides, who knew he liked climbing hills in a single bound anyway? As much as I protested saying we could travel much faster on trail at low altitude, he seemed to prefer the up and over approach - he was usually right...harumph...who knew as well that he could use a compass? Thank god cuz I really can't! We had a great time bombing through the woods and managed to find almost all controls before our time ran out. Thanks to Bash and Bent for such a great party! |

| Quick run out to where we had dropped the truck and back - included a fearful ice pond crossing twice - yup...I am a chicken - ice not so strong right now...felt great but my hamstrings got REALLY tight near the end - must be the uneven ground and ice?? Spend a big portion of the evening doing yoga and stretches by a warm fire, and in the wood burning sauna :) :) :) nice sauna.... |
