Trail Running 2:10:00 [2] 11.2 mi (11:36 / mi) +850m 9:24 / mi

Frisbee Jeff was over, so took him on a little trip up Tam. Started just outside Muir Woods -- lucky to get a space! -- and up dipsea/ben johnson to Pantoll, Mountain Theater, Tam, Fern Creek, Muir Woods. Easy running, but felt a bit off-balance from tightness somewhere.

Cycling 3:00:00 [0]

Cycled with Katie to Point Reyes Station for some popovers and bluegrass. Bivvied in a field of cows.

Road Running 1:18:00 intensity: (1:00:00 @2) + (18:00 @5) 9.0 mi (8:40 / mi) +550m 7:17 / mi

Hill repeats on Divisadero. Couldn't get a lift with SFRC and (more importantly) slept in, so this had to do. After my WU, I was still yawning. After two reps I needed a shit. Conveniently each of my efforts ended right beside a portaloo that was randomly on the street. Business done, the last 4 were ground out. Consistent, but hard at the end. Shuffle home.

Road Running 56:40 [2] 6.0 mi (9:27 / mi) +430m 7:43 / mi

David was in town randomly, so went for a nice easy cruise round the hills. It's been a hell of a long time since I'd seen him, so cool to catch up and since he is relaxing before the 10k trail champs, he was happy to go at my sea-level runner pace.

Road Running hills 1:16:00 intensity: (1:00:00 @2) + (16:00 @5) 9.6 mi (7:55 / mi) +550m 6:43 / mi

16x 1min, 2 mins off. Thought I knew a good spot on the south side of twin peaks, but it ended up being 20s long. Oops. Meandered to the road on the other side and did the rest there: jogging down for the full recovery got me gradually lower every time, until I hit the really steep bit. Then things got hard.

Found some dumbells on Clayton Street on the way home. Made the cooldown harder than the efforts.

Road Running 52:00 [2] 5.9 mi (8:49 / mi) +400m 7:17 / mi

Recovery run around the hills, in new hyperspeeds. Running warehouse finally does them for < $60. the law according to Koop states that I should be able to chat away on this type of run. I think that might have been possible when not running uphill.

S&C 45:00 [0]

BodyRok @ Haight. Those pilates reformer machines make me feel simultaneously like a tit and like my muscles will catch fire at any minute. Impossible not to eccentrically contract everything.

S&C 25:00 [0]

That awkward moment when someone else wears this years B2B t-shirt at ore class. Lost my V crunch form after the gazillionth one.
6 PM

Road Running intervals 1:17:00 intensity: (59:00 @2) + (18:00 @5) 11.2 mi (6:52 / mi)

Well, well, well, training commences and boy is it hard. Everyone was recovering from B2B, so I couldn't convince anyone to go and do 6x3mins.

Tonight's plan was intervals within an 80 minute run. I did 77 and that was fine by me. Ran the efforts around the little loop that Matt Jablonski uses. It was windy tonight. Paces 5.00, 5.10, 5.06, 5.16, 5.14, 5.10. A combination, I think, of getting more tired and more into the wind each effort.

Done and dusted.

Note
(rest day)

Skyrunner training starts with a rest day.
6 AM

Yoga 1:00:00 [0]

Doing a one week free trial at Core Power Yoga in Mission Bay, before a one week free trial as Tom Martyn at the Fremont St version. It was so-so, but the chin stand thing at the end was kinda fun.
8 PM

S&C 1:00:00 [0]

Dicharry, flossing, hamstring grastoning.
