Cycling (Lifecycle Offroad prac) 1:06:34 [2] 14.8 km (4:30 / km) +139m 4:18 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 26 ex Wally

A good turnout of riders for one of the Offroad season's early rides. My HF radio gig meant I couldn't make the outward leg but my support driver dropped me at Lake Leschenaultia for the return leg. Very pleasant spin down the KEP track to Mundaring after a leisurely coffee at Reflections cafe. Lake Lesch certainly looking a lot smarter than the last time I was there, several years ago. Nice to have some dirt under the tyres for a change.

Squirt up the coast from Beach Rd to Burns Beach cafe and return. Lovely morning which attracted everyone else, so most of the ride was a slalom around walkers, dogs, prams and even slower riders. Thanks to Peter for the 70th birthday morning tea which recharged us for the ride back into the breeze, although it was pretty gentle in reality. No mishaps or navigational disputes, so Mike can head east on a high note.

Orienteering race (NavDash Whiteman Park) 36:46 [3] 3.33 km (11:03 / km) +3m 11:00 / km
shoes: Merrell Continuum

A very enjoyable fast walk around the main village at Whiteman Park. Was travelling well, punching controls that I could see from some distance away and getting complacent until I got to #10 - didn't pick the boardwalks / garden thing at all and did a couple of back and forths before working it out. That woke me up and the rest of the course was pretty clean, although I had to pause and think about #16 behind the wall for a bit. Thought the youngsters did a great setting job in a very open space.
