Cycling (FROGs ride) 3:06:02 [2] 33.16 km (5:37 / km) +145m 5:29 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 26 ex Wally

Cool and smokey morning gave way to a lovely day for a ride. Ventured north to do a Bryan favourite from Kingsley to Joondalup / Wanneroo and return, but with a few tweaks. Across the cattle trail and up the freeway, then through the consumers paradise of Joondalup city to the lake and around to a new (to us) coffee spot at Leapfrogs. Back down the eastern side of the lakes for a total of 32 -33 kms depending on whose gps / bike odometer you believe. Very enjoyable ride.

Orienteering race (Blackhill Adelaide) 1:26:58 [2] 5.81 km (14:58 / km) +176m 13:00 / km
shoes: Merrell Continuum

In Adelaide at the end of two weeks of traveling so we went along to the local event - a "transition from city to bush" event at the eastern edge of the metro area where the hilly bits start. Nice mix of street, park and "bush" (mostly scrub) with a few gravelly slopes that were a bit scary. Lots of tracks made it easy navigation for the most part and the few times I ventured across country, the slippery slopes and prickly scrub had me wishing I'd gone the long way around. Setter did a good job of making use of the modest rock features available. Managed to avoid being last and my time was less than 3x Simon Uppill's so I didn't embarrass BO.W too much.
