Cycling (FROG ride +) 1:29:53 [2] 15.31 km (5:52 / km) +8m 5:51 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

Surprisingly pleasant ride this morning. After several attempts to leave home, I abandoned the original plan to join the other fringe dwellers at Guildford and ride to the start, cutting my losses with a Garvey Park liftoff and arriving early at Hardy Park. Oh well. We rolled out along the river to Guildford via the racecourse and Garvey Park without incident. Excellent morning tea at the Rose and Crown, courtesy of birthday boy and Great Leader Mike - thanks and happy birthday. FROGs bit worked out at 11 kms.

Cycling (Viveash explore) 53:57 [2] 16.52 km (3:16 / km) +4m 3:16 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

Split off from the FROGs and headed up Viveash to check out bike path we'd seen at tRicky's MetrO event late last year. Took a bit of getting past / around Governr Stirling High School - my map memory wasn't as good as I thought.
Trundled along the path into a fairly stiff breeze but it was very pleasant by the river on a terrific path. Until I got to the end and it tipped me off into a carpark, which Google showed was at the end of a road around the other side of the reserve. So what must be close to the best, widest, smoothest bike path in Perth goes NOWHERE. Love our infrastructure planning!
Rode back the way I came to GE Hwy then along the railway to Guildford and retraced the FROGs ride as far as Garvey Park. Mostly downwind so I was able to tick along at a half decent pace (for me).

Cycling (Random Car Bike Servicing) 55:07 [2] 16.28 km (3:23 / km) +19m 3:22 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

4WD and bike both needed servicing so I combined the two with a ride between drop offs at Welshpool and Kelmscott. Tried to do my Galahad thing at Welshpool when a very attractive young lady cyclist pulled off the road just near my destination and started prodding her front tyre. She gracefully declined my offers to repair her tube and called a friend to pick her up. Bugger! I then set off for Kelmscott with my own rear tyre of concern, having found a hole in it when I pumped it up earlier. However, the (new found for me) wonders of tubeless tyres got me there with plenty of air to support my bulk. Bike shop had to put a plug in the tyre so the goop already in there did a good job.

Orienteering race (MetrO Dalkeith) 59:27 [2] 5.3 km (11:13 / km) +45m 10:45 / km
shoes: Merrell Continuum

Always nice to have a stroll around 'burbs where the poor people live :-) Thumping sea breeze kept it cool, so I headed up the slope and took in the eastern part of the map. Craig didn't make it too easy, of course, but I managed to get back just inside the hour. Lovely to get a cheerful wave from Zali as she and Nick were driving home while I still had 4 controls to get - must be why we're at opposite ends of the points table :-(
