Cycling (Lifecycle practice ride) 2:19:43 [3] 28.13 km (4:58 / km) +226m 4:46 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

Early start to catch a 7:00 am train from Cockburn to Currambine, the start of the ride to Yanchep (the Yaberoo Budjara Heritage Trail). A crushed limestone track over more sandhills than the Canning Stock Route (or so it seemed) - track was generally solid, if a bit bumpy, but the up and down took its toll quite early. Pretty shattered by the time I got to Yanchep, which was only half way. Coffee and cake recovery helped a bit but it promised to be a long slog back.

Late start on the Garmin. As expected, real slog coming back with a lot of walking up hills. By the time I was parallel to Butler, I started hunting in Google for a track across but no avail. (At home on the big screens, the aerial photos showed plenty of options!). A couple of other riders who passed me were also keen to cut it short at Clarkson and one knew the area, so I tagged onto them and saved a few kms. Absolutely shattered by the time I got onto the train (which was quite busy for a Sunday afternoon).
