Cycling (FROGs ride out) 1:10:10 [2] 16.77 km (4:11 / km) +99m 4:04 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

Unseasonally cold start from Dodd St to try an anticlockwise loop through Kings Park to the Boatshed and back through Claisebrook. Confused everyone near Parliament House and then missed a turn in Kings Park and inflicted an unnecessary, extra hill on them. Boatshed service was a bit shambolic but it was good to be able to get through South Perth with the works at the ferry terminal finally completed.

Cycling (FROGs ride back) 54:43 [2] 13.78 km (3:58 / km) +79m 3:52 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

Return journey accompanied by a strong breeze, seemingly from random directions, until we got into the shelter of the built area from Claisebrook onwards. Bit more confusion around Yagan Square and ended up down on the new bike path along Wellington Street. Oddly they've sunk the bike path and left vertical "kerb" along each edge. Naturally I ran my front wheel along it and had a spectacular crash, cartwheeling onto my left elbow and shoulder. Able to continue and drive home, and doctor put me though a couple of basic moves to confirm that nothing's broken. Damned sore, tho'. Not my greatest effort as leader - thankfully, Mike will be back on deck next week.

Cycling hills (Heritage trail loop) 2:25:55 [3] 38.99 km (3:45 / km) +371m 3:34 / km
shoes: Giant Anthem 2 XL 2019

Juffy and Poppy kindly invited a couple of fossils (aka fathers) along for their regular jaunt around JFNP et al. Perfect day for it and we all got around without embarrassing ourselves. That loop's always a great ride, and as always, there was plenty of company with bikes, runners, walkers, dogs and evidence of horses. Most people are considerate, as we were, but towards the end, one couple with two average size dogs, off leash, pulled a classic. As we approached, the couple split up and went to either of the track leaving the dogs in the middle wagging their tails and looking at them, going "which one to we go with?" - duh. We'd slowed right down so it wasn't hard to weave through the muts but, jeez people, think about it a little more!
