Mountain bike ride (Easy concrete ride) 45:00 [3]

The trail I went to was still closed from rain on Friday so I did a ride on the concrete trail.

Hope your family in North Carolina and Florida didn't have any issues with Matthew. It looked like it caused a lot of damage.

This weekend my husband and I went to scout camp so I could use my hammock. In the end it worked fine. There was some concern when my husband was trying to teach me knots. Celebrating our 36th anniversary seemed to be in question, but he shifted into survival mode and made things easy for me. And to top it off, I was lucky enough to find a giant scorpion in the shower with me. Got to love scout camp.

Trail Run long (Long run) 6:00:00 [4] 26.5 mi (13:35 / mi)

This was probably the best long run I've had in years. The temp and humidity were good for October. The trail was technically closed because of rain but it was actually in great shape with just a few slick spots and the sand was packed for a change. I did basically the same 5 mile loop as last week. My downhill running was good. I had started w a new pair of shoes which I loved except for the blisters on the heels after 50 minutes. I'd brought other shoes but forgot blister bandaids.

Trail Run hills (Hill repeats) 55:00 [4] 4.75 mi (11:35 / mi)

I got to the trail about 30 minutes later than I had wanted. Because it was getting dark so I changed hills to one in the open. I got 7 repeats on trail and then had to switch to road because it got too dark to see and I didn't want to slow down for that reason. The first one was shorter than the rest which is typically, but the remainder were good. I had really wanted to work on the descending portion too but this hill wasn't very technical, just sandy.

Concrete/road run (Easy run) 45:00 [3] 4.0 mi (11:15 / mi)

This morning was a lot more humid then yesterday. I'm glad I got the hard run in then.

Concrete/road run tempo (Marathon paced run) 55:00 [4] 5.1 mi (10:47 / mi)

This was a decent run. I was able to get up to speed quickly and held a pretty even pace for the 50 minutes.

Weight training (Wts) 30:00 [3]

Time to start lifting again. I'm really feeling last week's miles. I'm also increasing my vitamin D and iron intake.
