Mountain bike ride (Fun ride) 55:00 [3]

Fun ride with my husband.

I'm all set for the IL race. I'm not completely sure about the logistics for the Pali Douro race. I'll probably fly up to Amarillo since we won't be camping anytime soon. The Las Vegas race is definitely a go. I will actually be doing a 5k Saturday night and the half on Sunday night. My daughter in law will be going too.

I hope everything is going well. Having a small lake sounds nice. I bet it'll be nice to get settled again. I don't know if you're interested in the eclipse. We were going to head to NE but the weather will be questionable.

Trail Run long (4 hr) 4:00:00 [4] 19.0 mi (12:38 / mi)

I was a bit anxious about this run because of yesterday's incident. My muscles still had some residual soreness and my arm felt like I had a pinched nerve. I started a little late because I took my time clearing my lungs before I left home. I started really slow with 4 min of walking and gradually picking up my pace. Anytime my chest got tight, I'd walk. Within 30 minutes I was running well. At the 2.5 hr mark, I was only a minute slower than last week. By 3 hrs, I had slowed a bit and the last 15 minutes sucked. It was 99 degrees in the shade.

Trail Run (Recovery) 1:00:00 [3] 4.5 mi (13:20 / mi)

This was a really bad run. It was relatively cool at 88 but humid and wet. I took my inhaler as I left work. At about 20 min, I got some really bad chest pains. I could see the muscles spasm and then my left arm started hurting. It wasn't a heart attach type pain but I had no idea what was causing it and it was painful. I decided to walk for a bit and it got better. Last Sunday I had a little of this but nothing like this. I did some research and it is a rare side effect of the new inhaler. It's now sitting in a drawer next to the others.

Trail Run tempo (Tempo) 59:00 [4] 5.4 mi (10:56 / mi)

Pretty decent run. This trail is spider heaven in the morning so my plan was 15 min out and back twice. I changed my mind and did 3-20 min laps. I had picked up my speed so much on the tempo that I was actually 10 min short of trail. The tempo pace was about 1:45 faster than the warm up, but then again there weren't anymore spider webs to slow me down.

Treadmill (Hill 8x11:20 @8%) 1:00:00 [4] 5.2 mi (11:32 / mi)

This was a tough run and it wasn't completely successful. I had to hold on a few times.

Treadmill (Fast flat walking) 30:00 [3] 2.15 mi (13:57 / mi)

Somewhere in the first 5 minutes, my grandson came into the exercise room, told me that I couldn't use my treadmill and shut it down at the base. Life with a 2 yr old is too much fun.
