Concrete/road run (Easy) 45:00 [3] 3.85 mi (11:41 / mi)

This was a slow run. Lots of reasons. The course was more rolling. I was running late and didn’t have time to drive to a flat course. I had a stomach ache and walked for about 2 minutes, then I got stopped by a man making rude comments which also frightened my dog, and lastly, my summer is over. The kids got back early this morning. So the fun begins again.

Treadmill tempo (Progression and hills) 1:00:00 [4] 5.25 mi (11:26 / mi)

The progression part went well. I did fluctuate between 10:40 and 10:50 for the last 2 minutes of the progression. The hill portion didn’t go quite as well. 45 seconds of each hill was fine but I wasn’t breathing like I should and I’d run out of breath every time. #7 was the worst so I did a slow jog before #8 and that helped.

Trail Run (Recovery w strides) 56:00 [4] 4.85 mi (11:33 / mi)

More heat training at 105 degrees. I’m looking forward to cooler temps. I got a replacement bladder for my new water pack and it only marginally helped. I came to the realization that I like the vest style and that’s it. My other bladder is leaking from the bite valve so no wasted money. I may try to modify the pack but it slips down my back because of the weight of the water and that puts pressure on my lower back.
