Trail Run (Push ups then down) 1:00:00 [4] 4.85 mi (12:22 / mi)

It was a gorgeous day today at 80+ degrees and beautiful clear sky. With days like this, the trails are busy. I went to a hilly trail but couldn’t start where I wanted because the lot was full. Where I did start was fine. Uphills went better than the downhills. My ankles were still stiff. I will have to get them loosened soon. I think it’s creating a case of plantar fasciitis, especially in my left foot.
I have started a daily maintenance dose of nsaids to help with my general pain issues. I’m hoping for a month or so but my dr isn’t as hopeful.

Concrete/road run long (Long run) 2:30:00 [4] 12.6 mi (11:54 / mi)

This was a good run even though I wasn’t sure it would be. My run yesterday was sluggish at best and my ankles are staying stiff. The first hour was very slow with an average of 12:10. I was in so much pain, I took an Advil at 30 min which helped tremendously. I also found a simple soft dirt path that I added. At 1 hr, I hit the car and dropped off my coat. My plan was to run the same route to judge my speed but found a new route to explore. The first mile was too fast but after that I was right at 11:45 for the remainder of the hr. The last 30 minutes were the best. I pushed each mile faster than the last. I headed back to my car 2 min later than planned and I made it.

I am worried about my ankles and what’s making them so stiff. My left foot is starting to hurt from it.

I hit a hilly trail but quickly decided to switch to an easy run. I could cut the trail to miss most of the hills. The strides went very well. Each one got a bit better.

Just a bit slower than usual. I’ll have to keep working to get back to where I used to be.

Weight training (Wts) 40:00 [3]

Upper body and abs. My leg muscles are too stiff to be effective. I came to the realization that I haven’t been wanting to lift lately because it tends to hurt and I’m tired of hurting. Now that I understand why I’m complacent, I should be able to find the time to lift more often. I did cut the weight and increase the reps.

First run. I’d hoped to run yesterday but my shins were still tender. The route ended being a bit hillier than I’d hoped. The ups were slow and the downs hurt my left IT band.
