Mountain bike ride (Ride w niece) 1:05:00 [3]

My niece and I rode from her house to my Mom’s house. We had fun. My niece is not yet 11 and is 5’6” with size 11 shoes. Sometimes I forget she’s so young.

Trail Run long (Long run) 1:30:00 [4] 7.5 mi (12:00 / mi)

This is approximate and the most unusual run I’m ever done. Same trail as last time in Boise. I changed to trail shoes because of the sand. I was definitely slower at 30 min but I was having rib issues and then started pick up because of the traction of the shoes. Right at 45:30, I checked my watch, picked my place to turn around and then unexpectedly became a bit emotional. And by a bit emotional, I broke down crying for no reason (that I consciously knew). I stopped my watch and stopped until I was calmer. I took off and ran hard for the next mile or so, then I realized I forgot to start my watch. From that point, I was fine and went back to my brother’s house.

Concrete/road run tempo (Medium effort) 1:00:00 [4] 5.6 mi (10:43 / mi)

This was a good run. I started off really well. I felt like I slowed at the end but I had to run past my starting point because I still had time to run.

Weight training (Wts) 30:00 [3]

Lower body and triceps. My ribs still hurt too much to do upper body.

Trail Run (Recovery) 1:00:00 [3] 4.85 mi (12:22 / mi)

This was a decent run. I ran it in the opposite direction for a change of pace. I ran the uphills really well. I was a bit more tentative on the downhills. I haven’t worn Hokas in a while and they are bulky on the technical trails. I’m still struggling with pain from my hurt rib so I’m back on Advil to prevent pneumonia again. My pulse ox level is starting to go down but hopefully I caught it sooner this time.

Treadmill hills (Min on/off) 50:00 [4] 4.25 mi (11:46 / mi)

This run was ok. The walk was at 15 min pace which is a bit slower than my typical hill walk. Any faster and I couldn’t catch my breath for the next run min. I struggled to breathe deeply in the beginning but it loosened up as I went along.
