Concrete/road run intervals (6x2 @8:45) 1:00:00 [4] 5.4 mi (11:07 / mi)

The easy portion of the run was great. I splurged on a pair of Hoka Bondi’s. They are the biggest shoes I’ve ever owned. My knees, ankles etc loved them. The intervals were tougher because of the shoes. I never made a full 2 min at 8:25. The flats and downhills were fine but I couldn’t maintain anything close on the uphills. My first interval was the worst. I had thought about adding another but decided against. The last 3 of them were at a park and each got better so I stopped on a good note.

An easy ride with our grandkids. Finally got my bike setup properly. Felt so good

Tough walk. I thought I was slower than usual but it was actually a bit faster.

Hope all is going well and you’re fully settled in. Your pictures are gorgeous.
I finally started back playing my guitar. It’s been a year. My life finally seems calm enough that the noise doesn’t bother me as much. And I do me noise. I’ve played a number of instruments over the years but I’ve always struggled to play music. It seems more mathematical vs musical.
Do you have plans for Thanksgiving? We plan on going to Big Bend State Park for a few days with our son and family. If all goes right, we’ll kayak, ride, and run.

Trail Run long (Long) 4:40:00 [4] 18.0 mi (15:33 / mi)

I was determined to do 5 hrs but didn’t quite make it. The last 20 min were particularly brutal feeling so I decided to stop a bit early. I was tired from yesterday’s run. I also had a tough massage yesterday evening and then came home at 9 and was too tired to eat dinner, which was a mistake. I still was running my usual pace until about 4 hrs. Then I started to slow.
I ended up being a bit dehydrated because it got warm.

Trail Run tempo (Medium hard) 1:00:00 [4] 5.6 mi (10:43 / mi)

This run went better than I could have imagined. I felt good when I started. I checked my time at the first mile and then right before the end. Right before the ending rock gardens, I saw 47 min and was confused. When I hit the end of the loop, it was 49 min. I was both elated and defeated. I’ve never run this faster than 56 min and felt that was my best. I was deflated because I still had another 11 min. I finished strong but tired.

Trail Run (Recovery w strides) 1:00:00 [3] 5.2 mi (11:32 / mi)

When I first started I was debating between this rumor an medium hard run. It became this run pretty quickly. My left quad became very weak for a while. It was probably due to some swelling and then I had a coughing fit at 20 min. Even with both of those items, I got well past my usual turn around point. The strides went great too.
