Treadmill hills (Hill walk) 10:00 [3] 0.75 mi (13:20 / mi)

Horrible walk. I had to continually step off and almost any speed. I opted to do some weights instead of finishing the walk.
Shortly after getting off, our power started rolling on/off.

Trail Run long (Hilly) 1:20:00 [4] 6.5 mi (12:18 / mi)

I waited until it had warmed a bit. It’s cold and will get much colder. I took the tape off my blisters and my feet are doing ok. I ran really well. I finished about 10 min early. Typically I’d do more but this time I decided to hurry home and get my bike and get a ride before winter hits tomorrow.

Mountain bike ride (Ride) 45:00 [3]

I got home and changed into some warm bike clothes and drove to a closer trail. I got my shoes and helmet on, got my bike off the rack and then noticed the gate was closed. I was so disappointed. I decided I’d head out on a concrete trail. It took about a minute to realize I wasn’t dressed warm enough and I need to find my toe caps. I also decided to break the rules and get on the trail. The trail steward is a close friend and he’d vouch for me, if I got caught. It was closed because the storms were coming but the trail was fine. At 40 minutes, the wind was really cold and I decided to finish a bit early. I’m glad I got the ride in.

Trail Run (Rolling) 1:00:00 [4] 5.0 mi (12:00 / mi)

The weather is going to turn bad this weekend so we stayed home. This was a mid-day run at a typical rolling trail. When I got next to the lake, the wind made it miserable so I altered my usual route.

Trail Run (Flat w strides) 45:00 [3] 3.9 mi (11:32 / mi)

First run and it was pretty good. There was a bit of freezing rain but nothing big. Pretty early in the trail is a long wooden bridge. It was really slick. I slid across it and almost fell off. I caught a railing before falling about 20 ft. After that I took it a bit easier. I also changed my plan and avoided the other bridges. I did 4 strides at 20 seconds. The first stride was barely perceptible but after that they were good.

Mountain bike ride (Mtn bike ride) 55:00 [4]

My plan was to do a quiet simple ride. At the trailhead, I stopped to talk to a friend and 2 men entered the trail. I caught up with almost immediately because they got lost. I lead them around the trail and pushed the pace a bit. At about the halfway point, they stopped to rest and I went on. By then, I was having fun and my legs felt good, so I kept up the fast pace.

My feet are still swollen but I have a pair of shoes that are wider and I keep them for this exact reason.
