Trail Run (Recovery) 58:00 [4] 5.0 mi (11:36 / mi)

This was an ok run. Most of the trail was in decent shape. There were places that were extra slick w mud and I walked. I have some leg pain. I’m guessing that I may have used a few different muscles yesterday. As I climbed up some of the hills, I had to straddle the trail and walk on the edges to get up the slick spots.

Treadmill intervals (Progression) 50:00 [4] 4.4 mi (11:22 / mi)

I cut the run short but I did all the progressions. After this morning and yesterday’s run, I’m a bit tired. And my right quad is pretty sore.
The progressions went fine and I did 2:30 recovery each time.

Saturday Feb 20 #

Trail Run long (Long hilly run) 2:45:00 [3] 12.5 mi (13:12 / mi)

I started and it was about 40 degrees. The snowy spots had a nice crust and the sunny spots usually had a dry line, so the first 90 minutes were close to normal. The creeks were running fast and cold and I picked my way around because I just didn’t want cold, wet feet. The last hour was worse. The snowy spots started to melt and it got very slushy and slick.

I’ll send a separate email about my week and why I didn’t have any other runs. I’d planned to do the progression run yesterday but as I was coming home from work, I was exhausted. It finally dawned on me that I’d worked over 12 hours on Friday and over 11 on Thursday and with very little sleep. And I still had grandkids who were staying with us, so I took the night off.
