biked with Dee to South Park to start of Octoginta; then after ride, rode home via Suzanne Shaw Park.

Octoginta 40 mile short course. From South Park to Eudora, then DeSoto and back. Mostly flat. Rode with Dee, Damon and Rick Hermesch to Eudora before we split off. Cold/flu symptoms had gotten better and was able to ride without any problems.

Cold; took Mucinex all day; able to go to dinner with Dee and Damon, but sent Dee with Becky McClure to "Chorus Line" and I stayed home (and watched the Vienna Symphony' summer outdoor program).

dynamic stretching at home and Dog Days calisthenics at South Park. A little wobbly with last traces of the cold.

Tested the hamstring - 90/30 Galloway intervals with more walking whenever I felt like taking it easy. Running was OK but hamstring tightness was there to remind me to take it easy. Should I try to run 17 miles on Sat or bike 40 mi on Sunday? Which would least aggravate the hamstring? SUnday is the Octoginta.
