Started to ride Randy Breeden's Jayhawk route - a bike route orienteering exercise. Total distance I was told would have been 36 miles if I rode the whole way. Legs were cramping up as I hadn't been doing any stair or hill climbing in a lot time, nor biked much this winter. So I cut the ride short near my house. Got as far as mile 17 on the map. I had to retrace a section when I missed a turn.
I knew I wasn't in good enough shape to a 40-miler today. Did the night O last night at 8 pm. Will complete the route at a later date. To do the route so you get the complete outline of a Jayhawk you had to go on some busier streets than I normally would go.

Here's the route did by Randy's group on Mar 17.

night O at Shawnee Mission Park. Did the 3.1K course.
Borrowed Mike Shifman's Boruit head lamp. Just as bright as the Nite Rider lamp, but more convenient to use.
Big 5 min error going to #8. Night O isn't as much fun as when I had better eyesight to read the map in the dark and with a headlamp. Put in good effort in the running.

At Comm. Bldg. After 4 day break from running, needed to get back to workouts. Opted to run outside.

running/walking 38:00 [2] 3.55 mi (10:42 / mi)

From 11th & Vermont, ran with Mike Shifman's loaner headlamp to 23rd/Vermont and back (including getting over the Mass). Before DD workout also did 1 lap around west side of South Park. The headlamp wokred great, more compact than my NiteRider. Luminosity ws about the same but the throw of the light was better with Mike's lamp.

4 am - started coughing, took NyQuil and slept til 9 am and zombied around house until noon. Managed to drive to Goodwill to drop off donations, then stayed home. Better by end of day.
