strength/stretching (Dog Days) 23:00 [1]

Biting insects at Liberty Central MS track; need to put on bug repellent from now on. Mostly stretching.

running/walking long 2:05:44 [2] 10.41 mi (12:05 / mi)
slept:7.0 shoes: Hoka Clifton 6

After going easy on the Dog Days workout, did my long run for the week today as we're traveling this weekend. Switched to a Galloway interval of 3:00/0:30. That will be a better interval for my next half marathon, but a step up from the 60/30 I've been doing. Emphasis was to go slow today.

Note
(rest day)

Photographed the Defend Lawrence! 5K. It started at 5:05 am. I think it's in it's 6th year. A fun run through the Lawrence streets in memory of the city's most infamous event. Aug 21st is the anniversary date of Quantrill's Raid.

1st fall Dog Days workout at Central Middle School. 68 people attended (last year's avg was about 25-35), Hamstring and quad stretches after run.

running/walking (Galloway run) 40:00 [2] 3.5 mi (11:26 / mi)

LCMS up Rhode Island to 6th/Mass then back to 14th/RI, then back to 10th/Mass and back to start. 60/30 Galloway intervals. Too lazy to switch to 4:00/30 but should before too long.

biking (mtn bike on roads) 1:10:30 [1] 8.3 mi (7.1 mph)
slept:6.5

Rode mtn bike from home to north Lawrence to check on my DWI locations (driveway interceptors) for the Thanksgiving Day Run. Stopped frequently to write down the house addresses. Mounted the bike-O map holder to hold my course map. Hot and muggy today. The rear wheel got a flat less than a mile from home. I walked home rather than try to fix the flat. The tire, liner and inner tube are very old. July 4th the front tire went flat and the liner (tuffskin?) was dry and brittle and fell apart when pulled out of the tire. Later, bought a new tire at Sunflower; now I've got heavier (more durable) tires for in-town riding. Probably won't be riding trails anymore except for the tame river trails.
