Pennant Semi Final at Thornleigh vs Mac03
1-3 loss to VK
Needed to win this to get the team directly into the GF with a week off but couldn't it done. All 4 games were tight with VK playing better on the clutch points at the end of games. Probably a bit scrappier than last week's match but a lot more intense. Legs were much fresher allowing more time on the ball, especially retrieving his boasts better from the front.

The first half of the match was played more on his terms but in the 3rd and 4th games I got more and more volley opportunities as he started to tire but let him off the hook by hanging back a bit too much and made some unusual unforced errors. Glad we have a second chance next week v Mac01.

My first '5th gear' effort of the year and felt okay during and after. Annoying blister on the ball of R foot will probably hamper training this week.

Joined the first part of Andy's Sydney farewell long run with Keelan, Bart, Mounty & Bull. Unfortunately with time constraints & a lack of fitness I couldn't do the full adventure to Manly but scrambling the rocks and goat tracks from West Head to The Basin were awesome fun. The tentative plan to turn around at the Basin with Keelan was aborted when finding out the water crossing options looked good, choosing Bart's wade over Andy's shark net traverse. Thanks to Mounty's coastal navigation, the only significant climb (for Keelan and I) was out of The Basin where we left the others at the Bairne track for a fire trail and road flog along West Head Rd back to the car. Big effort by the others to reach Manly after several beer stops along the Northern Beaches.

Very motivated to get back into running so I can do more silly longer runs in the future. Plan to resume running training, hopefully in July after squash finals if my foot is okay... it got a bit sore on the road flog so might stick to training on grass and trails for a while.
