Stretching 16:33 [2]
shoes: Inov 8 Mudrock 280

Perfect weather and less humidity at Hemlock Overlook in VA. Billy Allaband of DVOA came along with us. The day before I had very painful migraine headache. I had still slight migraine but I was hoping it will go away after run sprints.

Orienteering 26:05 [2] 1.8 km (14:29 / km)
shoes: Inov 8 Mudrock 280

I got 2 big bad fumbling on control #5 and #9 that caused about waste 9 minutes. I heard that the control #9 was misplaced. I agreed about that. I was so confessed to find that control but didn't. Oh well..

Orienteering 2:00 [3]
shoes: Inov 8 Mudrock 280

Red -Middle Distance course - after passed control #3, I was running on way to #4 then on the right side I saw someone was flagging with map. Stopped and turn around then it was my wife, Patti lying down on the ground. I knew right away it was her ankle. She got caught her foot in the hole. She felt some pop noise around the ankle and painful. Couldn?t get up and stand up either. I tried putting her arm around on my shoulder to walk back but she couldn?t hop. So, I decided to go for more help. Went back to the start/finish area and look for people who willing to come and help Patti to be carry out. Billy Allaband went go ahead alone with a bottle of water to meet Patti. Nadim, Greg, a couple and I went back to the woods along with an old rusted wagon with one flat tire. We put Patti on the wagon and dragging through the woods. We had to lift up the wagon over the logs. It wasn?t that easy but effective. The EMT people were waiting nearby the roadside in the woods. Took her to the ambulance and drove to INOVA-Fair Oaks. Nadim went along with Patti in the ambulance to help interpreting between Patti and medics. In the ER, nurses were looking the ankle and put some ice and decide to take an x-ray. Nadim, Billy and I were in the ER beside Patti and waiting for the doctor to come in. Wait? wait?. For about an hour and half then the doctor came in and told that her ankle is not broken or fractured. Oh yeah? but bad sprained. They gave the crutches and some ice and taped. Patti seems in good spirits and big smile. Billy, Patti and I were so hungry then stopped at Ruby Tuesday nearby the hospital.
