O race race 28:16 [4] 2.92 km (9:40 / km) +116m 8:04 / km

Break through in M60A class with a 3rd place at the Australian Middle Distance Champs at the "Gib". Spiked all controls in a large granite covered hill area and did not go too hard until the last few controls in the more open farmland area at the edge of the hill. Distance on map was listed as 2.6 km with 90 metres of climb.

We were joined with Richard and Nicole for a ride around the west and central basins of LBG - lovely still and sunny day - tried out another coffee shop at Yarralumbla - the Farmers Daughter - but consensus was that the coffee did not pass muster.

Cotter loop in reverse with a Lost person - a la Richard. Nice ride as little wind and countryside green - hills a bit of a challenge after racing yesterday tho.

Australian Long Champs - 9th place after leading at control 1 and equal 3rd after control 3 - but lost 1.30 at control 4 (and dropped to 15th) when I tried to be too cautious but went too wide - surprisingly on the next leg which was the long one I was 5th fastest even though I felt I was going slow due to the fallen timber - then later lost time when we hit the open on 2 controls (about 2 minutes on each). Had equal fastest on the last leg. A day of up and downs - when I made mistakes I was close to the control but slow relocating - sore tendon on the right leg at the start then other leg tendon hurt badly going into control 9 - walked for 30-40 metres to settle it down and then was able to jog a bit more - ran hard once we went over the hill. Distance advertised as 5.2 km course - winner did 47 minutes.
