O race 55:00 [3] 5.3 km (10:23 / km) +135m 9:12 / km

Day 3 and leg still sore so hobbled/jogged around course. Real windy and cold day with some passing showers. Hit all controls ok. Again most were in steep sided erosion gullies. Finished 11 th overall for the 3 days but sore leg probably cost me 4 to 5 places over the event. Happy my knee held up. Now to get muscle in calf ok.

O race 56:00 [3] 5.4 km (10:22 / km) +185m 8:51 / km

Day 2 and right lower calf muscle failed to improve overnight. Used walk to start to warm it and did some painful stretches. Hobbled/jogged the course. Lost a minute or so one control 1 which was in vague flat country. Nailed the next few along a flat dry watercourse. Then faced with a difficult route choice. Said to my self avoid the climb. What did I do. All the climb plus a bit extra via the tourist route I followed Gullies were much steeper than expected . Knew where I was but got pushed around by the terrain. Lost about 3 minutes on the route choice. Nailed all the rest and came home with a spinnaker out. Dropped to 10th overall.

O race 43:40 [3] 4.6 km (9:30 / km) +175m 7:59 / km

Day 1 of easter 3 days. Huge amounts of red dust driving to the event over the last 18 kms. Area full of dry erosion galleys and dry river beds - some 20 metres wide. Finished 7th and only about a 1 minute of 4th. Top 3 did 38 something. No real navigation errors altho drifted a bit on compass legs. But sore lower right leg after the race so not sure how it will pull up over night. Felt it tightening during the race but much worse after stopping. Event on day 2 is area next to today. So more dust getting to the event. Amazing how much dust 300 odd cars can put up.
