road cycling 1:19:00 [3] 27.0 km (2:56 / km)

Pleasant ride with Liz, Richard and Nicole to Toast for a coffee then back past our digs where I continued to end of Matilda Bay before a hard ride back into a strong headwind from the east. Bike paths nearly all the way which were nice and smooth. Distance covered makes this day 6 of tour de Perth.
Lots of folks out and about exercising.

Note

Copying GM's style I have also looked at what I have logged on AP for the last year. Thanks to Richard I now know how to use the report function.

There were 242 activities in total over 334 hours, that included 48 hours of yoga - fortunately this was not just spread over 2 days.

O races accounted for 39 activities while going for a 'run' only added up to 12 - reflecting the sore knee I had during the year and less motivation with Liz not going for a training run! Hope to re address this in 2016.

Distance covered in total was 3179 kms with 38 kms of climb. Of this climb, 14 kms were involved with walking - tour de Mont Blanc would be a big part of this.

road cycling 50:00 [3] 12.0 km (4:10 / km)

Recovery cruise with Liz on both sides of the Swan River adjacent to the city. Nice cooler southerly today and pretty strong if riding into it. Pity the 'white elephant' construction had blocked the path a bit on the city side of the river. Expect a lot of cyclists excited that it might open sometimes soonish - so the access is restored. Time and distance a guess.

road cycling 1:30:00 [3] 30.0 km (3:00 / km)

tour de Perth day 5 ( I think as becoming a haze) with Richard leading out and being joined by Scott on his fixxy. Tailwind for about 15 minutes going South then headwind much of the rest of the way. Cruised past Curtin Uni amongst other locales. Nice coffee after at the local bookshop cafe (ventured there again later in the day to sip iced coffee when it hit 39 C). Scott rode well but his bike might have been lighter as no gear cluster on the back, one sprocket on the front and only one brake.

Run 25:00 [3] 4.3 km (5:49 / km)

Kings Park regular O run on a warm evening at 32 C at 6 pm. Followed Richard and Noel. Spotted a snake which dropped the heart rate ( as we looked at it) plus water stop at the DNA Tower also helped recovery. Otherwise plugged along with a slightly sore hamstring. Another Boot Camp session done.

road cycling 51:16 [3] 15.5 km (3:18 / km)

Early morning ride with Liz from South Perth to Rubra coffee shop and back. Bit of a land breeze on the way out so nice tailwind on the way back. Rode past the new stadium being built by the Premier. Lots of people exercising on the parkland next to the river or riding to work - one observation is that this appears to be a city of young people.

O race 47:00 [3] 4.0 km (11:45 / km)

Coffee O at Freo. OAWA Xmas event which involved finding the names of coffee shops to put in a crossword. Trick was that the map of Freo was only partly provided - so lots of circles on parts of the map with no roads marked. Plus to increase the complexity Freo has a Cappicino Ave with lots of coffee shops, many of which had 5 or 6 letter names. Great fun and went ok for half an hour but then got confused and could not relocate easily. Thighs real sore after yesterday's run and did not loosen up much during this event.

road cycling 34:20 [3] 11.82 km (2:54 / km)

Rode over to stay at Scott's pad in South Perth. Wind from all directions and lots of party boats on the river. Could call this day 4 of the tour de Perth.
