ride with Peter 1:37:18 [3] 40.39 km (2:25 / km) +271m 2:20 / km

Peleton of 1 and training for the Urban Polaris which is on next Saturday. I am part of the Bee Gees team and if we are able to extrapolate from my training ride today we could cover 200 kms in the seven hours of the event - dreaming! Still all part of Stayin' Alive even tho we are entered in the Super Vets class.

Beautiful autumn weather for riding - sunny, no breeze, coolish air (rode with arm warmers the whole way).

Here is the link to the event http://www.urbanpolaris.com.au/entry-info

MTB 1:03:34 [3] 19.34 km (3:17 / km) +268m 3:04 / km

Cruisey ride to the arboretum for coffee and home with Paul. Overcast and cool in the morning. Washed bike afterwards to remove dust.

Yoga 1:20:00 [3]

Felt the affects of the last session today - especially in the arms.

Run 13:18 [3] 1.99 km (6:41 / km) +47m 5:59 / km

Short run post yoga on the MTB tracks at Stromlo - regular running is meant to strength/repair sore tendons according to the in-house physio - lets see if it works.

ride with Peter 1:51:48 [3] 44.68 km (2:30 / km) +331m 2:25 / km

Peloton of 2 as other riders way laid up by broken collar bone, sore back and harder ride options. Rode with Paul but not too hard as he has missed the last few rides and he was suffering a bit from a late night and too much wine. Windy for a change especially on the ride home. Fitted in 2 coffees - at 38 and at Duffy Arabica after the ride when we caught up with the others to hear about their injuries and the Byron Bay blues festival.

O race 1:27:54 [3] 7.15 km (12:18 / km) +237m 10:33 / km

Well never done this before - did not find a control. Long 2km + leg to 1 and drifted down a wrong spur on the way but corrected it then navigated more carefully after this. So very surpised not to find the control where I thought it was after checking off small features on the more direct but perhaps less conservative approach. After a search I had had enough so headed back to the finish which was a long way and involved some careful navigation. Looking at Richard's trace it now appears I was about 50 to 100 metres from the control but I could not get the terrain to fit (and nor could a few other people in the area). This part of the map had she oaks that block visibility making it hard to make out the ground shape and I did not trust the termite mounds after they said at the start that not all were mapped. Good bit of exercise in any case.
