O race 1 [3]
(sick)

Meant to do QB3 but had to pull out with man flu - back in CBR trying to recover and stop sneezing.

Peleton of 6 for usual LBG hit out - won the hill sprint from a 70 year old - fast pace into 38 Expresso but more cruisey on the way home - having a tailwind on the way home was unusual and pleasant - warmer today as it was overcast - BOM said there was no need for sun protection.

road cycling 1:11:54 [3] 28.27 km (2:33 / km) +379m 2:23 / km

Road with Grant from my place to "2 before 10" for coffee (in Aranda) and back. Virtually bike path all the way - windy on the way back. Today was a rest day for my running legs.

walking 1:21:00 [3] 5.0 km (16:12 / km)

Walking and exercise workouts and stretching alongside LBG shoreline - legs felt tired after yesterday. Joined in with Liz and pooch who both do this twice a week.

O race 1:12:59 [3] 8.33 km (8:46 / km) +144m 8:04 / km

Jim Sawkins Memorial Handicap event at Wild Deer Sands - mass start of about 25 orienteers on the Red 3 course (advertised as 7.1 kms) with a butterfly after control 1 to split the field. 22 controls in a technical area.

Did not have to really navigate until after control 13 after I got onto a train of 2 to 3 runners who had the same forking as me. Began to feel the effect after the 5 km mark and then missed on 3 controls before settling down to my own pace to finish the course. Interesting to be in a group and see faster junior runners coming thru over half way into the course (as they had stuffed up earlier controls). Great event and a great location - probably did about 8 to 10 minutes of errors in total over 3 controls - but I was getting tired by that stage.
