Park run 27:48 [3] 5.0 km (5:34 / km) +48m 5:18 / km

Burley Griffen Park run - decided to run with Katie today to support her efforts to break her PB. Felt good for 4 kms but tightened up over the last km. Hard to believe when I first ran this about 6 months ago this was around my flat out pace time. KB broke her PB and even out sprinted me at the end - didn't tell me she was going to do that given I had slowed down later in the race to help her catch up to me. Cool conditions but nice when warmed up.

road cycling 2:15:25 [3] 40.05 km (3:23 / km) +587m 3:09 / km

Commenced training rides (for Liz) for the Great Vic Bike Ride in late Nov. Liz wants to get her backside in condition for sitting on bike for an extended time. Daily distances for the Vic ride range from 56 kms to 105 kms over 4 days. So today we rode down to the Cotter River then back up the hill from there and then onto the arboretum for coffee (and to catch the mtb crowd) and then home. Pace was leisurely for me (don't tell Liz tho) and we had nice still conditions altho there was some fog going down to the Cotter. Saw and smelt lots of roadkill.

ride with Peter 1:41:34 [3] 38.85 km (2:37 / km) +403m 2:29 / km

Peleton of 4 on the usual LBG ride - windy but warm - won the hill sprint on my return when I jumped past Des when he got distracted - afterwards regretted it as the sprint took a lot out of me being the first ride for a while. Pleasant discussion over coffee covering issues like my recent travels, the state of America, local politics and whether a cartoon was racist. Ride back at a nice pace. Swooped on the way home tho - first swoop for the season and only me in the 3 of us riding together at the time - why?

Run 42:32 [3] 6.65 km (6:24 / km) +99m 5:57 / km
ahr:130 max:153

Making a return to AP by logging a run with GrantM around the shores of Lake Ginninderra on a sunny and warm CBR day. Grant wanted to know how far I planned to run beforehand as he wanted to do 12 kms as part of his Melbourne marathon training plan. I said I had recently been do 50 kms a day - but that had been canoeing! Anyway I managed this distance in my first run for over 2 weeks and was able to talk all the way so it could not have been at race pace.

Warm up jog for the ACT Long O champs on Sunday.
