Return to parkrun at Burley Griffen and best time for the year and 1 second of my PB here (which was about a year ago). Legs had zip today - in part because I missed running training on Thursday night. It was also ideal running conditions with no breeze and chilly enough for a slight dew. Forgotten how fast people start at parkrun but soon picked up my pace and used better technique for at least 60% of the run.

Usual coffee ride to arboretum and back - peloton of 5 plus rucks the dog. Joined by 2 others (riders that is) at the venue (plus rucks dog friend molly was there as well). Brief chat to Bob A who was doing some mapping near Wide Brown Land - trying to decide what would be white versus semi open on the map. Apparently the arboretum is paying some of the cost to produce a O map of the area. Nice riding weather.

Peleton of up to 7 - especially at the coffee stop. Brad went bananas and took off immediately from the start to make a solo breakaway and win the hill sprint - he even had time to ride back to us after the sprint stage. I managed to win second place by half a wheel after distracting Des on the initial climb by chatting about the Gospel according the Paul - which we both saw recently. After this 3 of us scootered off out front and got to the feed station about 5 minutes before the rest. Plenty of talk about politics today. Ride back was leisurely with the peleton keeping together until the last 5 kms.

Nice mix of exercises today beginning with 4 reps around a circuit of various activities, followed by some theraband arm exercises, some floor exercises and then some dancing.

Loop run with Grant along Issacs Ridge and parts of Farrer. Nice weather for running. Walked a couple of steep bits as still recovering from the weekend.

Real long distance at Hill End. Advertised as 7.1 kms and 245 metres climb. Actual distance covered as above due to wide route choices which were needed. When we left i was 3rd in my class. Loss a minute in the gold mining at 2 and probably 2 minutes on the long route choice legs. Took a straighter route for the 1.8 kms leg but this had some serious climb - most others I think went wider than me and had less climb. Legs felt good and was able to run most of it. Forest and tracks were very runnable.
