NSW Middle champs at Wyangala Dam on a steep map with lots of boulders. First 3 controls were very easy then I dropped 2 minutes on 4 altho I saw it but assumed it was not mine as it was too low on the slope as I contoured around a hill full of rocks and boulders. Got into a bit of a train after that when caught some others and then was overtaken by TGV and Nick Wilmott. Pretty warm as well so hard to read the map with sweat in the eyes. Nailed them all tho but did initially run to the wrong penultimate control - new control description of a cleared area confused me. 4th place!

Mixture today as a few of the group are going in the UTA50 on Saturday - some of the usual strength and agility exercises but at least a quarter was stretching.

Began with peleton of 4 and 2 more joined near the end of rowing course on LBG. Second in hill sprint to young Des - too strong even tho I had been virtually taken out early on by another unnamed rider. Legs felt it today after a lot of running. Nice autumn weather and a cruise ride home. Ride in further disrupted by the unnamed rider having a flat tyre which we stopped to help him given he had no spare tubes, or repair kit or tyre levers - he did have a pump tho!!

Nice run with Grant around edge of Mt Majura on a sunny but chilly autumn morning. Only had to walk a short distance on a couple of hills after the 5 km mark. Felt I earnt the bacon and egg roll I had after the run.

Walked to the event (about 300 metres) from home. Teams event where I did 3 of the 4 loops. Liz did the other one. Re-map of an old area - Narrabundah Hill but done by a dude from central Europe I think - 3 different symbols for tree types apart from vegetation areas with pines being mapped as light green. Lots of blackberries on half of this map. Start at the top so always a uphill finish on every leg. Felt Ok and kept with the leading pack on the first loop for a while - helped I knew the area, altho not the way it was mapped in detail. Cold and very foggy for a start so that kept the sweat level down for a while. Uphill le mans start to get the maps for the first loop but mothers got a 10 second start because it was mothers day!
