road cycling 2:16:55 [3] 44.82 km (3:03 / km) +446m 2:55 / km
ahr:107 max:162

Ride with Liz around LBG with a detour up Mt Pleasant (not sure the ride up was the reason for the name tho). Ran into Peter at 38 Expresso so 3 if us rode home together - into a headwind. Now i should rest for Sunday.

Thursday Jul 18 #

6 PM

Run 45:11 [3] 7.11 km (6:21 / km) +194m 5:36 / km
ahr:141 max:179

Running technique training at the usual spot at the arboretum - very windy and pretty cold - warm up run uphill to the village centre then two sets of intervals - the first down the amphitheatre lawn then along a bit before a hill climb to the Margaret Whitlam pavilion then a run along the crescent shaped path - did that 7 times with no rest. The second interval was just 6 laps of the crescent path - 3 into the wind. Then a jog back to the rock garden where the cars were parked - great view of the moon rising over parliament house.

Rest now until the ACT league race on Sunday - with Craney and GrantM away I might have a chance!!

ride with Peter 1:39:26 [3] 40.1 km (2:29 / km) +407m 2:22 / km
ahr:122 max:148

No Peter today as he applied for leave (it was granted). So peleton of between 2 or 3 or 4 depending where on the circuit we were. Strong tailwind on the ride into 38 expresso. 2nd in the hill sprint but then later formed a solo breakaway for a while before slowing to get Brad to join in before we hit the strong headwinds on the east side of LBG basin. Cool enough today that we sat inside for coffee. Plenty of discussion of forthcoming travel adventures for others except Des and I. Ride home was tough with a very slow ride up Warragamba Ave straight into the teeth of the wind.

Tuesday Jul 16 #

Run 1:07:26 [3] 10.02 km (6:44 / km) +209m 6:06 / km
ahr:135 max:158

Aranda Bushlands and Black Mountain fire trails and a bit of single track was the destination today with Grant. Hilly in the second part but ran virtually all hills (just). Cold westerly wind helped keep the body cool. Not a lot of talking today because of the hilly bits. Passed some of the grannies bike riding group at one stage - they were doing lot of talking.

Monday Jul 15 #

9 AM

road cycling 1:09:00 [3] 24.1 km (2:52 / km) +374m 2:39 / km
ahr:123 max:157

Positively balmy today at about 6 C with less wind when I headed out. Began with Col de Stromlo then Col de Dam Hill before riding back to Le Duffy coffee shoppe. Short but sweet (the ride that is). Peleton of 1.

Sunday Jul 14 #

9 AM

road cycling 1:50:58 [3] 32.56 km (3:24 / km) +573m 3:08 / km
ahr:116 max:155

Hill climbing training with Liz - did Col de Stromlo and followed up with Col de Dairy Farmers - coffee break before doing a section of Dairy Farmers again before riding home into a stiff headwind in parts. Real cold weather and often used a buff over the mouth and nose to keep breathe a bit warmer. Wind 19 kmh altho it felt stronger than that.
