Classic ski with Scott out to the end of the Roper trail and back to Windy Corner - then a skate ski lesson with Anton and a play around after that. Anton was also a Swedish orienteer so we had a chat about O events. He is also the coach of the Irish orienteering team (is that a oxymoron ?). Great lesson and I learnt a lot - now to put it into practise - hired the skate skis after that lesson.

Hired classic skis and tried to remember how to do cross country skiing - felt good and only crashed once - nice snow and weather improved as we went along - coffee stop half way before heading back to Windy Corner and the apartment for a rest. Nice to be staying in the snow village.

Back to exercise class after a 4 week break with John being away o/s. Wow felt the effects of not doing any homework while he was away. Fortunately he did not push the class too hard.

Peter missing again today as was the rest of the peloton so a solo ride around LBG - slight short cut to get to 38 tho. Windy on the way home tho - air cold but it was sunny. Now off to the snow for a few days.

Loop run around and over Red Hill without Grant for a change. Fair bit of climbing and tried unsuccessfully to avoid the trig. Nice up top as it was cooler with great views. Some of the paths at the top were very rocky so slow going. Took the road down before returning to the car on the north side fire trail.

New map at Tidbinbilla on a steep course - did Red 2 (second hardest) course and it was meant to be middle distance - nailed all controls other than 11 which cost me 5 minutes. Area is pretty thick and spikey in parts - map had a lot of detail of both rocks and vegetation as mapped by the east european mapper that was here - chance to run on a european map without having to put up with the jet lag or the exchange rate. Interesting I was not the only person misplaced on 11 - saw two senior boys juniors who were in the schools section trial also misled here. I think I relocated fastest tho.
