Rode with Liz to arboretum via zoo single tracks then some of the new single tracks built in the arboretum to the south - took some of these on the way home. Tracks were not very technical but nice to ride around the young trees rather than just the fire trails. Saw a fox up close when we re-entered the pines on the way home. Sunny but the air was real cold - made use of my new scruff from Ground Effect - including covering my mouth to keep warmer when we first started the ride flying down Warragmaba Ave.

Running training tonight was in the cork oaks which was good as there was a very cold breeze blowing. After the warmup run to get there I did 5 loops of the circular track at varying pace. Struggled on the uphill climb tho. Run back to the cars afterwards. Still needed headlights.

Strength and conditioning 1:00:00 [3] 1.0 km (1:00:00 / km)

After 2 weeks off due to injury and an inability to get up so early I ventured back to the exercise class - plenty of tough exercises.
9 AM

ride with Peter 1:42:50 [3] 39.39 km (2:37 / km) +382m 2:29 / km
ahr:119 max:150

Peloton expanded to 6 today with return of a traveller and a flu victim. Also joined by another friend of Vern's. Peloton soon split apart tho because some riders were out of practise riding at race pace. Won the hill sprint then spent 5 minutes trying to ride at a pace I could recover. Nice tailwind to 38 expresso. Not a nice headwind on the way home tho. But a more sedate pace on the way home to cater for the returning riders.

Back running with Grant - this time somewhere down in the deep south. Actually a loop around Fadden Pines then a climb up to the back of another hill(?) before scooting back to Chisholm shops for coffee. Legs feeling a bit heavy as a result of returning to normal training load with some extra hill climbing on Sunday checking control sites on Issacs Ridge thrown in.
