O race 42:04 [3] 4.94 km (8:31 / km) +117m 7:37 / km
ahr:147 max:176

ACT Long champs at Slap up Creek - 3rd place in the M65 A Titans class after young John Scown and Nick D. Ran the long faster then the Middle the day before (course was too short i think as advertised as 4.2 kms). Spiked all controls but maybe lost 30 seconds in the circle at 8 when I looked at the 5 metre boulder rather than the one next to it which was 3 metres high - I thought they got the control description height wrong! Lots of fallen timber in parts so I headed for the yellow wherever possible. Lovely weather but a long drive to the event.

O race 43:53 [3] 4.23 km (10:22 / km) +96m 9:19 / km
ahr:139 max:155

ACT Middle champs at Wee Jasper and 5 th place. Worked on the start all the time before my start - as a result not many others left on the map by the time I ran. Mucked up 4 and was too cautious on 6. Great area of open land with lots of karst terrain. The few trees on the map that were all mapped was the clue to finding the controls or at least getting into the circle. Quite hot by the time I started as well.

MTB 1:08:00 [3] 17.0 km (4:00 / km) +267m 3:43 / km
ahr:110 max:155

Arboretum ride for coffee and return - pretty easy ride to save legs for events over the weekend.

Run 43:00 [3] 6.1 km (7:03 / km) +203m 6:03 / km
ahr:133 max:162

Training with the goats as usual - stiff hill climbs in the Himalayan pines was on the menu - I bailed after 3 to save the legs for the weekend. Did a few loops around the track at the top instead (which was also part of the hill climbs). Nice fast jog back to the cars.

Strength and conditioning 1:00:00 [3] 1.0 km (1:00:00 / km)

More and more exercises - someone in the class referred to a woman breaking some plank world record - held it for 4 hours and twenty minutes - glad my session only goes for an hour.
9 AM

ride with Peter 1:46:05 [3] 39.54 km (2:41 / km) +390m 2:33 / km
ahr:114 max:137

Peloton of 3 with lots of regular riders still overseas or visiting Wagga Wagga. Nice riding weather - and a cruise ride given Paul is still finding his bike fitness. Let Des win the hill sprint today to share around the glory. Two week break ahead from this ride as off to Japan soon.

Run 1:05:15 [3] 10.14 km (6:26 / km) +101m 6:08 / km
ahr:134 max:153

From Forde suburb in north Canberra (aka southern Sydney) thru Mulligans Flat nature reserve and back to the Forde shops for coffee and egg and bacon roll. Solid run with Grant which was fortunately flat - I also felt a bit flat so I fitted in with the terrain.
